Problems Early On In Your Marriage? They Are More Common Than You Think

For some married couples, their early married life passes without any problems. For Others, that initial adjusting period isn’t so easy and painless. Realizing that it takes work to successfully merge two lives together in this way is absolutely vital if the marriage is going to go the distance. If both parties can accept this, then any problems that do surface don’t necessarily have to put the very foundation of the marriage in doubt.

It’s important to understand that with anything brand new and life changing, there is going to be a period where you have to adjust to the situation. No matter how much love you feel for each other, how much you enjoy the physical intimacy, you are still going to have to adjust to your lives being shared as one. Some couples make the mistake of putting too much emphasis on any early marriage problems they encounter, and this is often because they don’t cut themselves any slack when it comes to adjusting to their new circumstances.

To minimize any future problems, you should have sat down and talked through every aspect of getting married. Most couples don’t do this though, which is why any early problems that present themselves can seem worse than they actually are. Ideally, the following areas should have been discussed before hand:-

Children

Maintating the household

Financial issues

Physical intimacy

Friends and family

Employment

Don’t sit there thinking that you have made a massive mistake in not going over all those areas above – there is still plenty of time to do so. In fact, there is no better time than right now. Don’t agree with her opinion on the amount of children to have? Put it on the table. Feel like he spends too much money on things you don’t need? Bring it up with him.

Life is full of compromise, and marriage is no different. Remember – you got married for a reason, hopefully a lot of that reason was the love you feel for each other. Love alone isn’t always enough – you have to be completely honest witch each other about the relationship as a whole.

Merging two lives together is difficult for everyone, don’t forget that. No marriage is perfect, so don’t expect yours to be. As long as you are both committed to moving forward together, there’s no reason why you can’t have a long and happy life together.
